DESCRIPTION: The galls here are formed by a mite and are seen as an irregular mass of contorted leaves covered in a whitish-grey pubescence. Each gall reaches up to 40mm across and inside is where the pinkish-white mites feed. In late summer, most galls start to dry and they begin to take on a reddish-green colour before becoming brown-black later in the year .DISTRIBUTION: Infrequent throughout the UK but possibly under-recorded. HABITAT: Founds on the buds of Broom and are seen throughout most of the year.
